    As someone who's Japanese and living outside of Japan, I always bring back different sunscreens whenever I visit. Besides Biore Aqua Rich, my current favs are Toneup UV by IHADA and Powdery UV Cream by by365. Toneup UV is tinted and great for sensitive skin. If the color matches your skin tone, it’s perfect for everyday makeup. Powdery UV Cream has this unique texture, it's moisturizing yet mattifying, and leaves no stickiness. Only con is it’s scented. Totally recommend trying them if you get the chance!

    Biore is the best thing that happened to me! I’ve ALWAYS HATED sunscreens, which are sticky, chalky, don’t distribute well, it’s always something… Japanese one is watery, lightweight, I just LOVE IT

    I love the Australian cancer council sunscreen compared to any American sunscreens I’ve tried. It came in a liter and has a pump, it goes on smooth to the point I forget where I’ve already applied so I end up applying twice everywhere, and it’s never stung my eyes after wearing it

    You didn't keep the sunscreens for the dry and wet test the same. .Also as a list of errors and areas to improve you can also add: 1. You should have laid out in the sun at around noon and in an area not obstructed by your trees and your house with few clouds. Should have kept it as clear as possible. 2. You could have recorded your skin every few minutes to see how it visibly changes over time during your testing period, since all sunscreen recommends reapplying every 2 hours. When you were out there for 3 hours for the wet test, that one last hour might have contributed the majority of the burning. 3. You chose 2 hours and 15 minutes, and then 3 hours for the wet test? You did not keep it constant either way for some reason even though you said you didn't want a repeat. 4. When laying down, your back is arched looking at your phone or writing or whatever you were doing. This creates a different angle on your back which is already not a straight surface. 5. Did you use the same scales for each weighing between the dry and wet test? They look like 2 different scales. One is blue and the other is orange. This adds more uncertainty. 6. Your skin looks red in an area where there was originally tape in the first photo of the dry test. Perhaps try and remove the tape more carefully next time to reduce redness and confusion. 7. Your criteria for determining which sunscreen were the best/worst after the results was using your eye? Maybe you could have compared to the color gradient before and after. Did you take photo of your back before the test itself? There is a chance some areas of your back were a tad bit darker than the rest to begin with. For example your upper back looks darker than your lower back. 8. Is the Zinc Bondi Sands even water resistant? I can't find it claimed anywhere that it is. So I don't understand why you were even comparing it. Mineral Sunscreens are not by default water resistant. 9. You are one person doing all of this only 2 times (dry and wet). If we wanted more accurate results it would have to be over a period of time with around the same UV index and also with multiple different people. Ideally. This combined with all your other errors, don't really tell us too much unfortunately.

    i was looking into US sunscreen vs EU sunscreen regulations a couple months back and ugh is sucks being in the US. we havent updated our regulations in like 28 years. so we dont get the new chemicals and tech that other countries use. we are stuck in 1996 over here... the year i was born. sooooo if anyone has recommendations on how to get good sunscreen in the US and what ones to try, that would be nice. i burn so easy, and want to use good products on my skin. since most sunscreens here wouldnt even be allowed in the EU for having too high of levels of certain ingredients that are unhealthy.

    To be fair, the efficacy between Australian vs Japanese sunscreens kinda make sense. It can also be seen as a reflection of the strength of manufacturing industry between each country. Japan's manufacturing industry is usually positioned within the top five globally, usually competing with Germany. Australian's manufacturing industry hasn't been good for more than the last ten years. If I'm not mistaken, according to the Economic Complexity Index, it was even below Indonesia. Australia is cosidered a high-income country, while Indonesia is a middle-income country, with muuch more poverty btw. It's actually pretty sad considering one of the country's strength relies on education as tourism. So while their university is incredible, the domestic industry isn't really able to absorb the graduates from there. This is the results of poor economic policies from politicians, relying on over-privatisation that makes the rich richer, while the poor poorer.

    • @samueltong8061
      @samueltong8061 39 хвилин тому

      Uhhhh did you watch the video? There were so many things wrong with the methodology it's insane. You also can't apply manufacturing industries as a whole to this. It's too vague.

    The Beauty of Joseon sunscreen unfortunately broke me out, so I have found some alternatives that work for me. My favorites right now are Cell Fusion C Laser Sunscreen and Jay Suing White Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen (great for under makeup). I have also tried HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Pure Mineral and the HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen. (Mineral one is better under makeup but does give you a whiter complexion, while the Airyfit one looks very dewy and doesn’t work as well under makeup.) Hope that’s helpful for anyone hunting for a sunscreen that doesn’t irritate the skin.

    Biore Aqua Gel performed the best??? I'm shook because it is one of the cheapest sunscreens you can get in Japan. I wonder how Anessa Gel will perform. I think it will do better than UV milk since UV milk is formulated for your face. It's also surprising that Minon was the best. That brand is marketed for people with sensitive skin. It's mostly known for skincare btw.

    As an Australian, I never took wearing sunscreen on my face seriously until I was probably around 28 years old. And being in Japan to try out theirs. Mind blown, I remember the face sunscreen that Ego and Hamilton made were soooo thick and gunky.....just never was comfy. So thankful they are now making them better. My go to is the Cancer Council ones. Good price and we know they have to meet regulations Now it's so much better
